Good evening, Fandom. Do any of you get nervous when I help with the radio? I certainly hope not, but I suppose I should get started and get this over with in case some of you do.


School News

Today marked the last day of summer workshops, for this summer, at least. The Five Senses students had to pick one sense they could live without, and explain why they were willing to give it up.

The Practical Weaponry class used their last day to play Capture the Flag, with additional guns. That sounds like my kind of game. The students split into teams, geared up, and fought to see who came out on top.

The Dating, Hooking Up, and Sex class talked about the effect that Fandom weirdness can have on one's sex life. Like when you wake up and discover that your husband is a small plastic doll. Ah, that was an entertaining weekend. The students also showed off the sex toys they'd found or bought or made, told Dean what they thought about the class, and had pie.

The First Aid students had something very close to a final - after gathering up, they each had to go through a door and deal with a Danger Shop-created injured person in a limited space, to test the skills they learned in the last few weeks.

The Pottery-Making 101 students got to glaze and fire their projects, and the Cons and Confidence students had a choice in their final assignment - they had to make plans to either protect or steal an 850 pound emerald.

Over at the teacher offices, Kate stopped by Mitchell's office to see if he wanted her to bring anything back for him when she goes home, and they talked about Bod meeting her parents and Mitchell's neighbors. Faith was putting things in order in her office, and Anders was packing up his office, while occasionally stopping at the window. To check for nosy squirrels, maybe? I wouldn't blame him.


Dorm News

Sookie was packing a box full of baked goods when Bobby stopped by to visit, and got some of the extra cookies she'd made.

The rest of you managed to hide from the squirrels, it seems. Well done.


Town News

Cloud took some time to relax at the beach this morning, since it was nice enough outside to do that today. Arya was lounging and relaxing at Coyote Medicine, Mary was dealing with a mountain of paperwork at The Arms Hotel, Harper was advertising for people to leave belongings they couldn't take home with them at Things Reborn, and Delirium was sleeping on the counter at Groovy Tunes when Didi stopped by to visit her.

Luke - the Skywalker variety - and Raven met up at Chilly Boulder after a - all right squirrels, I don't think "matchmaking" was the word you should have been going for here. Let's say it was a suggestion from Anakin. They talked about Luke's time in Fandom, Raven's possible future, and gremlins, because, well, conversation with a Skywalker.

Dimitri and Rose went to play pool at Fast Eddie's, and talked a little about the future, and what things will have to be like when they return home. Tahiri was picking through scrap metal at the Junkyard; when Jaina showed up, they got caught up with each other and with Jaina's last mission, and Ben came by too to see how Tahiri's searching was doing.

Ariel ran into a talking crab in town, and let him drag her off to the beach...you know, that might be one of the strangest notes I've seen in a while.

And Chuck was indulging in ice cream as well as alcohol at Caritas. John Sheppard came in for a drink, and ended up stealing some of Chuck's ice cream before they started snarking back and forth at each other. Jaina was surprised to see Chuck at the bar on a Friday night, and tried to score a free drink from him before an intoxicated John came over and snarked with her too. Faith came in for a non-girly drink, which Shunsui insisted on paying for, and he also hit Chuck up for all the sake in Caritas.
