Fandom Radio :: Friday, October 31st.
Happy Halloween, Fandom! I hope everyone had fun with everything and didn't get too badly assaulted by those balloon animals from those creepy clowns. They were creepy and the animals were weird, but I'm still counting that as not nearly as bad as it could have been.
I'm totally probably going to crash from sugar rush in about fifteen minutes, so I'm gonna do these quick!
SCHOOL
Tyler was dressed up as giant pink rhino for Chemistry class today, and I really hope the squirrels got some pictures of that. Reno mentioned to Ino that they hunt things like Smoochy in his world; the class as a whole worked on an experiment...an experiment of making peanut brittle, which sounds, really good right now. Ino was there to TA and got a compliment on her vampire costume, while talking with Tyler about how Smoochy was not what he intended to be today, thank God. Rikku, also TAing, just thought it was adorable. I worry about that girl some times.
It was naptime...I mean, meditation day, of course, in evil class today. Yes, we still had to wear those uniforms. At least I know Dick is with me there.
And nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition in Awesome Class. Really. Nobody expected it. And then they got tortured, only not really. Dick and Peyton reported in for TA business. Bad Alice and Warren branched out to discuss Lithuanian and French Inquisitions as well.
Student Council met today, as well; we mostly had a brainstorming session since it's Halloween and we just had Parents' Weekend. We did, however, discuss Spirit Week, winter holidays and gym uniforms, and there was, of course, pizza and candy.
As StuCo meets, so do the teachers, in their staff meeting, where Tyler and Mister Minsc talked about Tyler's costume, and Tyler and Miss Bennett had kind of a staring contests, I think, which is awesome. No staring from Sam but there was blinking.
In office hours, Doctor Suresh read up on things on the internet, while Miss Garrett had dogs playing around on the floor in hers. The Doctor was available for conference, which Sam -- the used to be a student but is now a teacher Sam -- took advantage of to see if he had a wrench and/or retractable ballpoint pen, and end up talking with him about a mutual friend.
Buffy opened the library early and was all contemplative, and everyone at the office has costumes! Even the moose!
DORMS
Ned was lazy in bed -- ha! That rhymes! -- and Kaylee came by in her cute costume to try to convince him to go trick-or-treating. Ichigo put an end to his balloon bunny with a pair of scissors. Chad stopped in to check on him real quick. Harry told his skull abuot his balloon-animal infested birthday. Tony chilled with a bottle of rum after the festivities, and Peyton showed up to report on how her Halloween night went.
There were also some clowns in the lobby handing out deceptive animal balloons. Jack got a pig, Sam tried to be all avoid-y, but got a balloon flower instead, and then stayed to get an animal. Agnes was running late for work but still made time to stop and smell the flowers, which ended pretty comically.
TOWN
Ender and Karal had a quiet interlude without Halloween stuff going on at the beach with their raft. They talked about siblings. They should be talking about candy.
Also, some guy named Ben Reilly woke up all naked and broke into a place to get some clothes, but it's okay, because the place is apparently his.
Mary celebrated the holiday in a cute angel costume at the Arms Hotel. Robin and I stopped by to get candy! Kaylee and her antennae were excited to get out of work at Stark Industries. Mayor Cable read the newspaper at the Perk, and Detective Day wanted to borrow the funny pages from him. Viki thoughtfully munched on candy at Strokes of Genius, and Agnes was late for her shift at the Magic Box, tsk tsk! Liir played around with a balloon animal at Book Haven, where Ino came around to show off her vampire costume and get him to go out for trick-or-treating. Hurley whistled while he worked at Covent Garden Flowers, and Ella and her balloon giraffe settle in with a book at Luke's Diner. Miss Burrows was actually kind of surprised to see here there, and Ella, like me, is surprised that she's surprised. Rikku was all witchy at Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center, and Jack stopped in and they talked about his trouble with meditation. Good place to go for help with that! Worf lives under a rock and wonders why Rikku's dressed up, and Rikku and Reno fawn over how hot their costumes are. Jenny opened Pixie Dust and made all those over-priced clothes smell like cigarette smoke. Miss Tinkerbell was there later for trick or treating, which Skeleton Robin, a chimp, Worf as a Merry Man sort of thing, Ninja Tony, and Vampire Ino took advantage of.
There were clowns scattered throughout the town all day, as well. One was stationed on Godiva Street, waving at everyone. Another was in the park handing out balloon animals.
At the clinic, Ronan had a phone call where he explained that no, he's not going to be a leprechaun for Halloween, which is a shame, I say. And Tino came dressed as Mister Bindo at Caritas. Nice! I hope he told the trick or treaters to get off his lawn. Robin, Worf and Ino made sure to stop in for candy! Or pennies; sometimes old people give out pennies, which is lame.
There was also the great haunted house, brought to you by a joint effort between Kappa Kappa Gremlin and the Self-Defense Club! You could walk through the house, feel around gross body parts at the lab, there was a severed head and demon cat, bobbing for apples, and carving pumpkins.
And what's Halloween without Trick or Treating? Everyone gathered at the school gates before going out: Vampire Ino thought that Old Timey Golfer Hannibal's socks were, quote, 'seriously demented,' which is funny, because I could have sworn I've seen Chuck Bass wear something just like Hannibal's costume before. Anyway, they also talked about how there's no Ichigo and Ino OTP, apparently. Pixie Alice is also fond of Golfer Hannibal, as well as Halloween as a whole. Skeleton Robin and Vampire Ino exchange Happy Halloweens, while Goth Winged Girls Peyton and Angela discuss how they're un-original together, and cute, much to Peyton's chagrin. Angela promises to help Peyton have a good time. Skeleton Robin liked Goth Fairy Angela's wings and they talked about the improvements he made on his costume since last year. Pixie Alice and Goth Fairy Angela mused about if their wings actually worked, and Vampire Ino approves of Ninja Tony's costume. Scarecrow Cal learns the hard way not to sneak up on ninjas, even when they're dressed like vampires, and Vampire Ino is all excited about his fake baby for class. And here I thought it was just a really bizarre touch to that costume. Ninja Tony compliments on how disgusting Scarecrow Cal's mask is. It really was pretty gross. Yuck.
Roman Hinata and Skeleton Robin talked about trick or treating, and Skeleton Cal teased Roman Hinata about her toga. Pixie Alice and I talked about the different levels of respectability of our costumes, and I still think that Marco was cheating. Father Sam got a curtsey from Pixie Alice. Skeleton Robin liked Ladybug...ish Kaylee's costume; Ladybug...ish Kaylee and Not Dressed Up Ned were still cuuuuuuuuuuute as heck even though he was nervous about trick or treating. In fact, I think that makes it even cuter! Punky Dean and Pixie Alice discuss the finer points of hair dye, while Father Sam tells Punky Dean about how he doesn't like those clowns, man. Father Sam also tells Pilot Peter about how he looks sexy in a unicorn. Eh? Eh? Punky Dean and Pilot Peter speculate on Alec's costume, while Pixie Alice and Pilot Peter decide that they get to be honorary Winchesters and hope it nets them more candy, but I hope not! That's candy favoritism!
And then there was the trick or treating! People flocked to Nast Sporting Goods,Covent Garden Flowers, and MCA, where they could hit up Mister Ryan in the lobby, Robin Not-a-Frog and Constable Fraser and Doctor Jones the Librarian. There was also Book Haven, Pixie Dust, Coyote Medicine, the Radio Station, the York Gallery, and Luke's Diner.
Mister Minsc and Boo and the Winchesters also opened their door to candy grubbers, as did Caritas. At MHA, there was Mister Loki in the lobby, as well as Doctor Jones the Doctor, Mister Kowalski, and Detective Constable Day. The Arms Hotel, the Gig, and the Lighthouse were all Halloween ready, too!
...And, yup, sure enough, totally sugar crash going on. I hope everyone had a good Halloween! Good night and have a prosperous tomorrow!
