Fandom Radio, Tuesday, February 12th

Tuesday again? But I could swear it was Tuesday only just last week. Are you sure I need to be out of bed right now?

*Chittering!*

Positive?

*Chittering.*

"Only fools are positive?" What is that even meant to mean? You don't even know, do you? You've just been watching cartoons while drunk.

*Awkward silence.*

Yes, I figured as much. Pass me the notes, will you? I have to catch a portal by noon so that a small young woman can kick my arse more thoroughly than any supervillain possibly could. Thank you.

School first, then, with Jaye's Philosophy class' watching a Valentine's Day film, since that holiday is coming up this week. Ugh. The quality of that particular piece of cinematic drivel was demonstrated by Cade, who was woken up by a paper ball to the head courtesy of Jessica. American Feminism talked about Margaret Sanger and birth control - use condoms, kids - before discussing some of the less progressive ideals the woman held. Flight was also treated to a film today, which has me half-tempted to arrange for one for my class on Friday, just to round things out. And, in the library, William was dealing with bubbles floating down on him from the ceiling.

I never got bubbles when I worked in the library. Now I feel cheated, somehow.

In the Dorms, Stacey was selling flowers and tickets to the dance. Yes, I'll likely end up chaperoning the dance that evening. No, I won't enjoy it. Toby was watching some thing on the fifth floor common room telly about velociraptor kissing when he was met face-to-face with an actual dinosaur. Somehow, that doesn't actually surprise me around here any more. Gert explained that Old Lace, her dinosaur, was probably just drawn by the sound of raptors. No idea if that means she only wanted a kiss.

For the rest of the dorms, it seems like coming back from home and curling up with a book to read is the thing to do. Bay did so with a copy of Deafenstein, and Jessica had some YA novel with a long name that I can't quite make out through squirrel-scrawl. The book got her and Sia talking about dragging Atton to see YA movies, so here's your warning, Atton, to run. Flim adaptations are rarely as good as the book they were based on.

And now for Town. At Stark Industries, Cade seems to have taken up knitting. Or, rather, testing to see how deadly a knitting needle can be if you throw it at a door. Karla had new stock over at Dite's for that blasted holiday. Ugh. She healed Sparkle's concussion when he came in and then offered him a job, and scarred Emily for life by explaining that her boss is actually the goddess Aphrodite, so I suppose it was a productive day for her in spite of the Hallmark holiday preparations.

Jack Priest was dealing with Tiny and the DJ being obnoxious at the Devil's Nest. I'd say that this is why I generally prefer Caritas, but Tino isn't any better, and the zombies are just noxious. It's a trade-off. At the Arms, Mary was dealing with sales calls from some place that wanted her to rent rooms by the hour. I don't think it's that sort of hotel.

Eponine had herself a coffee and muffin at the Perk, and some time for introspection until Karla came by to check up on her and attempt to get her set up at the hotel, but Eponine seemed a little wary of accepting help. Jack Priest recognized her from the party the other day, and they bonded a little over how they're from a relatively similar point in time. And, at Demon Marcus, Hanna had coffee to keep her going while she set up a shoe display.

That's what I need this morning. Coffee. Squirrels, you're starting to slack off on me, aren't you?

*Chittering.*

Are you sure the usual coffee guy is sick?

*Chitter-- Squeak!!*

Ha. Positive.
