Fandom Radio, Monday, January 19
Sam: Good evening, Fandom. I hope no one's still in hiding after the madness of yesterday.
Dean: I think everyone should just assume every message was a wrong number and treat them as such.
Sam: Especially if they were really, really dirty. At least, that's what I'm doing.
Dean: Denial. It's a wonderful coping tactic.
Sam: You get used to it after a while around here.
Dean: Seriously.
School
Sam: Monday means we're back into the swing of classes, thank goodness. The Business 101 class talked about the stock market, and what stocks might be good to invest in now. You know, for the students who have more money than they know what to do with. toThe So You Want to Make a TV Show students were informed that they're going to be making a sports show. Everyone talked about their favorite sports to see who knows something about the subject and who doesn't, and then paired up to try to figure out where the difficulties might be in a show like this.
Sex Ed class talked about sexually transmitted diseases through the use of plush toys. Chuck Bass must not have been available for a first-hand discussion, but Tony stopped by during the class, and was highly amused by the toys. And Mad Kings and Queens covered Isabel of Portugal this week, and discussed whether she was born crazy, or developed the crazy during her marriage. After class, Merlin and Aravis talked about messages accidentally left yesterday, and got things straightened out between themselves.
Cal kept the library under control, and today was the first meeting day for this semester's clubs. The Blank Page Art Club had some introductory mingling and chatting before getting down to the business of making art. Claire was there to lead, which Cal mocked her for before they cleared up phone-related miscommunication, and Alice asked for clarification about what they're supposed to bring to show off next week.
And the Young Entrepreneurs met and made business cards before using them for introductory purposes. The vice principal was there to play advisor, and Turtle thanked him for stepping in to the job.
Tyler had office hours today, but was cranky until Tony came by with donuts. Minsc was also annoyed during his office hours, and Nathan was watching the news, so I can only assume he was annoyed too, unless he was watching a good channel.
Dean: They should all get donuts -- donuts make everything better.
Sam: I think food in general makes things better for you.
Dorms
Sam: Leto was having trouble sleeping this morning, so he took his baliset - which the squirrels claim is not something dirty - and went out to play. He met up with Dinah, and they talked about the phone craziness from yesterday as well as ending up in their underwear on Friday. It really was a rough weekend, wasn't it?
Dean: Depends on how you take it. People ending up in their underwear doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.
Sam: It was for the people who were in public!
Dean: Not if they're exhibitionists. Or just really really hot.
Sam: Not everyone likes to run around naked like you do, Dean.
Dean: Hey, I don't run around naked. I just enjoy watching when others do.
Sam: Well, then you should ask friendly people to do that in the privacy of your own room, and not wait for all of their clothes to get eaten. Dinah also stopped by Arthur's room to return a shirt she had to borrow last week, and Angela did the same with Chuck's coat and scarf, the difference being that her drop-off included flirting and dirtiness. Be careful, Angela, you don't know where he's been.
Dean: Somewhere unsanitary most likely.
Sam: Definitely. Reno stopped by Rikku's room with flowers, in case he accidentally left her any messages that pissed her off. Now, that's smart thinking. Francine made cookies and talked to Katina about the mixed-up messages and whether or not Katina's ever going to get married. And Zayne finally got around to checking his voicemail. Hopefully it wasn't as sex-charged as mine was.
Adora and Hannibal went to the salle this morning to spar - at least, that's what Adora thought they were doing, while Hannibal was expecting sex until Adora got her sword out. I'm assuming the squirrels meant a real sword, since they stopped and cleared things up after that.
Robin was working on his recording in the rec room this afternoon, and got help from Chad on bass and Penelope on the piano. Peyton had Chinese food up on the third floor, which she shared with Tony while they talked about how the phones got messed up yesterday. Blysse got in on the Chinese food and chatted with Tony while Hinata's cat and Blind Seer played. She also asked Priestly about come-ons, based on the voicemail he accidentally left her yesterday. That might not be the most awkward broken-phone-induced conversation of the day, but it's probably up there.
Dean: I got one of those from Priestly too yesterday.
Sam: We're in denial, remember? At least, I know I am right now. Peyton apologized to Priestly in advance for any messages she might have accidentally left for him, and talked about the phone mess with Hinata as well. Peyton offered some of her Chinese food to Dinah, and they agreed that they would have been perfectly happy to have a normal weekend. Dinah and Tony compared the weirdness of their messages, and Dinah and Blysse talked about how Blysse was spared from the clothing madness because she doesn't use washing machines. Smart girl. Hinata introduced Dinah to her cat, and Dinah and Priestly made plans for a friendly coffee date, awww. Um, that was the squirrels awwwing, not me.
Cal was watching Rumor Gal, a.k.a. his favorite television show ever, and it seems he's gotten Worf sucked into it as well. He's quite possibly the last person I would have expected to get into that show, so good job, Cal. Hurley found out that Worf really doesn't like being called "dude" and supported Cal's claims that he only watches the show for the attractive women. Riiiiight.
Cal and Amber quietly talked about sex while Hurley and Amber decided the Rumor Gal viewing needed chicken wings to go with it. Claire and Amber were awkward at each other - due to the phones, I assume - but I'm willing to bet that awkwardness didn't last long when Claire went to get cuddly with Cal. Hurley and Penelope talked about how much her engagement sucks because it means she can't go out with him, Marco and Cal talked about how much Marco hates getting turned into a vending machine, and Worf and Claire were either seriously talking about milk, or speaking in code. The squirrels are onto you guys if it's the second one.
And look out if you're going up to the roof tonight. Ino and Liir were there with Ino's broom, practicing her flying.
Dean: As long as it doesn't turn into practicing her crashing, we're good.
Town
Dean: Down in town, Liz opened the Arms Hotel, Worf opened Wellspring Arms, Joan opened Covent Garden Flowers, Alex opened the Magic Box, and Seregil opened Book Haven. Lacey was on a cleaning frenzy at Luke's, Bender checked the fence for repairs at the Gig, Tony put away a shipment of dreamcatchers at Coyote Medicine, and Sokka ran a 10% off special on all phones at T&C. Yeah because that's just what people want right now -- more phones.
Ender busied himself with work at Stark Industries in an effort to ignore the phone calls from yesterday, and hoped that Ben could use Jedi mind tricks to erase the memory. Yeah that kind of thing never turns out well.
Sam: It won't be so weird in a few days. Probably. I mean, I assume, based on experience.
Dean: Yeah the next weird thing will happen and traumatize us all and we'll forget all about this one. Jack hit the Perk this morning and apparently can't make a decision because he ordered both hot chocolate and coffee. Dude, just get a mocha. He mistook Amateratsu for a regular dog and got freaked out by Issun.
Triela opened the Freelance Police HQ and found a guy in the closet named Leonard. Which, anywhere else would be out of the ordinary, but is actually not that abnormal around here. Max asked if Triela had an oven he could blow up, as you do.
At town hall, Cable now knew more than he wanted to know about the lives of certain people. Yeah, right back atcha there, Mayor. Sarah came by to verify that Cable really didn't threaten her. A very smug deputy mayor Robin-not-a-frog was also there.
Over at the Pixie Dust, Romeo found one last voicemail from yesterday that had him concerned. Fortunately, Reno rushed right over to let him know that the message wasn't for him, and played some of the wackier ones he'd received. Also, Adora came in to shop for accessories and brought her talking horse Spirit to meet Romeo. Right into the store? Is that allowed?
Sam: Well, if he talks...
Dean: Hopefully he's house trained too then. At the trooper station, Daisy was entering the details of all the calls she recieved yesterday into the computer. Sarah brought muffins and Ray wanted to know what the deal was with the ovens. They're for blowing up, at least if you ask Max.
Over at Groovy Tunes, Chad had a craving for sushi, which he was able to indulge in when Teddy brought some by, including some Mexican stuff with jalepenos. Dude, Mexican sushi? That's either deeply deeply wrong or deeply deeply awesome. I'd have to try some to decide which.
When he wasn't delivering sushi, Teddy was over manning the Android's Dungeon.
Mina brought a picnic lunch and a book to the park and was joined by Simon. She was also freaked out when Robin-who-is-a-frog went by on his skateboard.
Simon also spent time tidying up his room over at 25 Unicorn Street. And Arashi had a buy one, get one free special on drinks over at Caritas. We should totally check that out when we're done here, Sammy.
Sam: You buy one and I get the free one?
Dean: Or we both buy one and each get a free one.
Sam: Okay, but you'd better not make fun of me if that ends up being too much for me.
Dean: Promise. Not even if you do karaoke.
Dean: I think everyone should just assume every message was a wrong number and treat them as such.
Sam: Especially if they were really, really dirty. At least, that's what I'm doing.
Dean: Denial. It's a wonderful coping tactic.
